2023 Chevrolet Z06 Gets the Advantage of the Z07 Performance Package

Chevrolet Z06

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray features an entirely reinvented Corvette formula. The new vehicle has a mid-engine layout with graceful and neutral driving attributes. Despite its unconventional appearance, it is a perfect sports car. The new Z06 describes a wild side of the C8 Corvette with a new throttling V8 engine and streamlined mechanical grip.

The official announcement for the Z06 mentioned the new 5.5-liter naturally inspired V8 engine. However, the refresher LT6 allows functions for dual overhead cams, flat-plane crank, dry sewage system lubrication, and one havoc manifold. The outlandish intake manifold can string out 670 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of twist.

The new car features an additional 20 horsepower than the supercharged LT4 V8 with a 15-pound less weight to thrill. However, the LT6 is down on spin but longer sweep with a gradual increase at an 8,600 rpm redline. The engine features a short stroke and flat-plane firing order with ultra-light internals to provide most of its power. The exhaust of the C8 Z06 is entirely modified to highlight this hyperactive character.

The Front-wheels Feature Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Tires

Most buyers who were expecting the deep, rushing V8 thunder of the former generation Z06 will become disappointed. Meanwhile, this is an entirely different engine with a categorically dissimilar temperament and sound. The Z06 is manifestly louder around town compared to the base Stingray. The exhaust chants loudly when twisting the throttle for a 2.7-second 0-to-60-mph dash.

The Z06 has 3.6 inches wider tires compared to the Stingray. It was considered an essential change to accommodate a wider track. The front wheels are 20-inch wrapped with 275/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The rear tires are 21s with 345/25ZR21 rubber having a 13-inch wider contact patch for each tire. They are designed for performance and excellent grip perspectives.

The Z06 Features a Magnetic Ride Control Suspension

The standard Magnetic Ride Control suspension of Z06 is around 30% costlier than the Stingray. Its Sport setting features the Z51 Performance package. The Z06 is more comfortable for daily driving or commuting when leaving it in the Touring mode. The Touring mode is the most pleasant setting with immediate and smooth shifts for the standard 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The performance variant has the same optional front lift feature. It is capable of automatically raising the nose 1.8-inches at GPS-set locations. However, the lift manually works to clear vertical driveways, speed bumps, and various other setbacks. The cabin of the Z06 features similar tech presented for the Stingray. The vehicle features an 8-inch version of Chevrolet's excellent Infotainment 3 system and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.

2023 Chevrolet Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package

The Z06 also features a digital rearview mirror similar to Stingray. The diagonal rear glass with engine sound reflection and the advanced carbon fiber wing offers a more elegant look. The sports machine allows the paddle shifter 1,500 to 2,000 rpm short of the 8,600-rpm redline. A well-designed DCT handle shifting helps to understand the sound & rhythm of the Z06’s powertrain.

The braking system of the Z06 features bigger 12.6-inch front brakes with 6 piston support and 14.9-inch rear discs. The 2023 Chevrolet Z06 takes full advantage of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires with the Z07 Performance package. It will feature standard carbon-ceramic brakes with bigger 15.7-inch front rotors and a magnetic suspension.
